1. MUSLIM WORKERS AT NEBRASKA MEATPACKING PLANT COMPLAIN OF RELIGIOUS HARASSMENT

Not only are the native majority populations are forced to accept mass immigration against their will but they are also forced to change their way of life to accommodate these newcomer's needs. Facts like these are common in the UK also.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,290324,00.html

Supervisors at a meatpacking plant have fired or harassed dozens of Somali Muslim employees for trying to pray at sunset, violating civil rights laws, the workers and their advocates say. The five- to 10-minute prayer, known as the maghrib, must be done within a 45-minute window around sunset, according to Muslim rules. The workers at the Swift & Co. plant in Grand Island say they quit, were fired or were verbally and physically harassed over the issue. The Council on American-Islamic Relations has drafted a complaint to be filed with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The petition compiles testimony from at least 44 workers who had planned to sign the complaint during a meeting Sunday. The signing was changed to a later date because of a logistical problem. Jama Mohamed, 28, said he was fired in June for leaving a production line to pray. Supervisors would not allow him a break, he said. "Some of them took the (prayer) mat from me; they started shouting, they started telling me to stop it, and one of them grabbed me by the collar of my shirt," Mohamed said through an interpreter. "I was crying at the time this was happening to me, and when I finished I told them while they were doing that I was in the middle of a prayer." Mohamed said he was then called to an office, where a supervisor fired him. Mohamed Rage, chairman of the Omaha Somali-American Community Organization, said Swift had fired at least two dozen workers for praying since May. Donald Selzer, an attorney for Greeley, Colo.-based Swift, said only three Somali workers were fired for reasons relating to the issue, and that it was for walking off the line without permission, not for praying. Unscheduled breaks can force unplanned shutdowns of lines, Selzer said. "That is a significant number of employees, and there is not much of a way to accommodate that consistent with keeping the production online," he said. The complaint reprises issues that boiled over in May, when 120 Somali workers abruptly quit for similar reasons. About 70 returned a week later, but union officials worried the issue would resurface through the late spring as sunset came later in the evening shift. "For three days it was all good and we were praying; there was no hassle, no interference, nothing at all," said Ali Schire, 30, who said he returned to the plant but was later fired for trying to pray. "All of a sudden after three days it just all got loose, and they were suspending people, they were firing people," Schire said through an interpreter. "Some of the people even had to give up praying at all for fear of being fired." Said Selzer: "These people are absolutely entitled to pray, and they should not be interfered with for doing so. But on the other hand, the only situations that I've been made aware of are people that walk off the job without permission, and that's a different kind of an issue." Dan Hoppes, president of Local 22 of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, said he had not heard of many Somali workers being fired or harassed since May. Prayer breaks are not in the contract, he said, but he hopes to revisit the issue in negotiations in 2010. Swift rejected a suggestion by the Council on American-Islamic Relations to allow the Somalis who work evenings to leave in smaller shifts to avoid disrupting lines, said Rima Kapitan, an attorney with the group. The company suggested phasing evening workers to shifts earlier in the day that did not interrupt prayer times, Selzer and Hoppes said. "We're perfectly happy to try to pursue that angle so that we don't have this conflict," Selzer said. "But given the people who are on the second shift — many of whom prefer to be there — this sort of presents the operational realities." Mohamed said it is important for Muslims to pray within scheduled times and not to postpone prayers or say them early. "I would never forgive myself and God would not forgive me if I do not pray on time because I want to earn some money," he said.

2. IRAN LAUNCHES NEW CRACKDOWN ON UNISLAMIC DRESS

If Muslims become the majority in this country expect a similar move.

http://www.iranfocus.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=11925

Iran on Monday launched a new wave of a moral crackdown against women who "dress like models" and men whose hairstyles are deemed unIslamic, police said. Tehran's police force dispatched dozens of police cars and minibuses into the early evening rush-hour to enforce the dress rules at major squares in the city centre, an AFP correspondent said. The new "plan to increase security in society" -- which is limited to Tehran but will later extend nationwide -- comes after a pre-summer drive by the police resulted in thousands of warnings and hundreds of arrests. "We have vowed to continue the campaign to reinforce the plan to increase security in society with new personnel who have received the necessary training," the Tehran police head of information Mehdi Ahmadi told reporters as the first police forces were dispatched. "This notably includes the use of 100 female police officers," he added. He said that the campaign would target women who were badly veiled, wore overly tight overcoats, sported excessively short trousers and were "dressed like models." "As far as men are concerned we will act against those who have Western-style haircuts and clothing. We are also going to act against clothes shops and hairdressers." Ahmadi said the policy will be first to give a verbal warning to those who infringe the law and, if necessary, they will then be arrested and taken for "consultation." "Normally the problem is resolved here. If not, and these cases are often those of re-offenders, the case is sent to the judiciary," Ahmadi said. An AFP correspondent in Vanak Square in central Tehran saw women being apprehended and then being escorted towards a waiting minibus by female police officers. They then waited in the bus as the operation continued. Other women were seen quickly adjusting their headscarves to cover loose hair when they saw the officers. Women in Iran are obliged to cover all bodily contours and their heads, but in recent years many have pushed the boundaries by showing off bare ankles and fashionably styled hair beneath their headscarves. Although the April crackdown was the severest such drive in years, some women are still donning figure-hugging coats and skimpy headscarves. The wacky hairdos favoured by some young men in Tehran are also much in evidence. By renewing the drive, it appears the police want to send a message that they are serious about enforcing the dress rules. Many conservatives have applauded the crackdown as important to protect the security of society, but moderates have publicly questioned whether Iran would be better off tackling poverty and crime rather than slack dressing. Ahmadi emphasised that the plan was not just restricted to enforcing Islamic dress rules but also targeted all those who disrupt "security" in society. "In this plan, sexual harrassment in the street, addicts and hooligans and the security of recreational places will be targeted," he told the ISNA news agency. He added that the police would also step up the fight against what he described as "sexually deviant groups and Satan-worshipping cults." "Some young people, intentionally or unwittingly, are walking advertisements for Western deviant sexual and Satan-worshipping cults. In this plan such people will be identified and confronted."

3. TOP CLERIC DENIES 'FREEDOM TO CHOOSE RELIGION' COMMENT

This cleric is only following the teachings of the Koran. This is why Islam is not compatible with western values.

http://archive.gulfnews.com/region/Egypt/10141696.html

Egypt's top cleric yesterday denied in a statement that he had said a Muslim can give up his faith without punishment. Ali Goma'a, the mufti of Egypt, was quoted as saying in a posting on a Washington Post-Newsweek forum that Muslims are free to change their faith and this is a matter between an individual and God. "What I actually said is that Islam prohibits a Muslim from changing his religion and that apostasy is a crime, which must be punished," Goma'a said. The alleged fatwa coincides with an uproar over the case of 12 Egyptians who converted to Islam from Christianity and now want to re-embrace Christianity. "There is a campaign by secularists to distort the image of Dr Ali Goma'a," a senior official in Al Azhar told Gulf News. "He cannot deny punishment in this life for the apostate," said Mustafa Al Chaka of the Islamic Research Centre.

4. A DASTARDLY COLLABORATION: "VICHY ENGLAND" RISES ATOP RADICAL ISLAM

This party has been saying that for a long time.

http://www.postchronicle.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi?archive=25&num=93697

After surrendering in the last global war, France set up a Nazi puppet government in the original Vichy. More than happy to enforce the Nazi agenda, they were as cowardly as the French Resistance was brave. Vichy has come to represent more than a location in France -- it's a metaphor for pitiful and dastardly collaboration with the enemy. While England remains a steadfast ally in the global war against Islamic extremists, Vichy is inexorably emerging in parts of that ancient and noble land. Vichy England is in Westminster. That's where Rev. Phillip Chester, vicar of St. Matthew's, wants to do away with England's patron saint because Muslims don't like St. George. Vichy England is in East Northhamptonshire, where the council ordered a host to remove an England flag from her pub because it had "England" written on it. Vichy England has engulfed England's schools, many of which are dropping coverage of the holocaust from history lessons so as not to offend the Muslims who deny it happened. They're also censuring talk of the Crusades (1095-1291) because it might conflict with what the Muslims learn in their mosques. Vichy England is emboldening the enemy within: British citizens who are second-generation immigrants. Since they came voluntarily, one would presume they must have reasonably known about their adopted country's revered precepts on civil discourse and her cherished traditions. However, they are altogether too happy to seize upon Vichy England's obsession with multiculturalism as they undermine her heritage. Vichy England is in Plymouth. That's where town councillors suddenly decided to charge parking fees to patrons of St Andrews church. They deemed that free parking for everybody in the city on quiet Sundays discriminates against Muslims and Sikhs who practice their religion on other days. This is particularly heart-wrenching, for Plymouth will forever be enshrined as the home of the iconic Mayflower that in 1620 set sail with devout pilgrims bound for a missionary life in the new world. It would be too obvious to relay the hate the Islamic extremists are spewing from Londonistan, but this comes from "moderate" Muslims in Manchester. It's an excerpt from a recent letter to the national newspaper The Daily Mail: "We British Muslim lads born in England of Pakistani parents ... don't wish to be 'radicalized' and we would never become terrorists, but the continued use of an anti-Islamic flag increases our sympathy for ... our fellow Muslims who believe direct action is the only way to make our voices heard." The cheek! They want to expunge St. George's Cross -- the flag of a great country that welcomes them with free schooling, free medical care and possibly welfare checks. A red cross on white background is not only England's national flag but also the focal component of the Union Jack, which is still flown proudly in many Commonwealth realms. What's more, it's also the flag of the Country of Georgia and such renowned cities as Milan, Barcelona, Montreal, Freiburg and Genoa -- global indeed! Vichy England is in Blackpool. That's where the city council threatened to confiscate licenses of taxi drivers who dared show a bit of patriotism during last year's World Cup soccer tournament. Their folly: simply displaying England's flag on their taxis in support of their soccer team. Perhaps the Manchester Muslims threat to support "direct action" warrants expulsion, yet that will never happen in Vichy England where obedience to their multicultural agenda is compulsory. Vichy England has consumed the press and swamped the once hallowed corridors of the BBC. Once respected the world over, the "beeb" is now infested with neurotic chattering classes seemingly ashamed of their heritage. Their bias is not anti-religion, for they rarely have a bad word for Islam; no, it's just Christianity they resent. A detailed poll by the Daily Telegraph showed that 32 percent of British Muslims believe that "Western Society is decadent and immoral and that Muslims should seek to bring it to an end." That end may come sooner than later in England, unless a major resistance movement overcomes Vichy. Noel S. Williams is an independent columnist

5. THE NEW SURVEY OF MUSLIM ATTITUDES MEANS NOTHING

Any survey portraying Muslims in a positive light must be taken with a pinch of a salt.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/017564.php

More Muslims reject extremism, survey finds: Support for bombings fell in seven of eight Muslim countries surveyed This survey means nothing, except insofar as it has the ability to mislead and console the unwary. Why? Suicide bombings are now taking place not against the Americans -- who mostly suffer casualties from I.E.D.'s, but against other Muslims, in both Iraq and Pakistan, where they are directed against the government. And there have been other cases in Lebanon and in Saudi Arabia. And it may have spread to the Maghreb. Muslims are well aware of this. They are well aware that suicide bombings may be a threat to them, to their own wellbeing, as they walk down the streets of Cairo or Damascus or Beirut or Algiers or Riyadh. And they are also well aware of what damage, not all terrorism, but a particular kind of terrorism -- suicide bombing -- does to the all-important "image" of Islam. It is too easy to put into a political cartoon a suicide-belted fanatic. That can be easily grasped by the viewer. A growing number of Muslims obviously feel keenly the public-relations problem, which for them is quite different from moral abhorrence. Imagine, if you will, that there were no suicide bombs going off in Iraq, or now in Pakistan, or in Algiers, or, here and there, even in Lebanon, or Morocco. Imagine that you are a Muslim living in Doha or Dearborn. If in Doha, you probably don't like the idea that suicide-bombers could suddenly decide that the Al-Thani family has been too friendly to Infidels (it's nonsense), or that the wife of the reigning ruler is a bit too fashionably got up and too "feminist" in her leanings. And these suicide-bombings, you might feel at this point, are something to be discouraged, for they might come to you. And if you are a Muslim in Dearborn, and are keenly aware of the need to lie low for now, and to proceed softly-softly so as to ensure that you have the time to solidly insinuate yourself into the American landscape. You do this not least through constant repetition of phrases about "three abrahamic faiths" and a deliberate emphasis, with which the media plays eager ball, on how family-oriented (you bet!) Muslims are, and what good incomes Muslims make in this country (a sign which we are apparently to interpret as making them more American, Just Like Us, Nearer My God to Thee) and all kinds of other things. None of them, of course, have anything to do with the texts or tenets or inculcated beliefs of Islam, such as sole loyalty being owed only to Islam and fellow members of the Umma. None mention the disbelief in pluralism (save where, in countries still controlled by Infidels, such "pluralism" can be exploited to Muslim advantage), or in individual rights and autonomy (Isla m is a collectivist faith; the individual does not matter, and he certainly is not to be permitted the Western ideas of freedom of conscience, freedom of religion, freedom of speech). That's it. Some of those answering the survey of Muslim "opinion" surely have learned by now that they can answer any damn way that suits the interests of Islam, and would naturally wish to put the best face on Islam for the Infidels that they can. So the lying, which we shall primly describe as the "margin for error," only goes one way -- and the size of that "margin" in a culture of lying for Islam must be very large. Certainly it cannot possibly be estimated in any plausible way. All such polls of Muslims, when they have at hand a worked-out doctrine of religiously-sanctioned dissiumulation (taqiyya and kitman, both of which are ultimately derived from Muhammad's declaration that "war is deception" -- a statement taken to heart over the past 1350 years of Islamic history) are silly. Or rather, they are useful only in establishing the absolutely minimum number of Muslims who might support something hideous. If 29% of Muslims living in Great Britain, for example, reply to a poll that they support acts of terrorism within Britain itself, then one has a base line -- 29% -- and can conclude, with confidence, that at least 29% of Muslims in Great Britain would support domestic terrorism. But that is all one can say. One cannot say, with equal confidence, that 71% of Muslims living in Great Britain are unalterably opposed, or even opposed, to acts of terrorism within Great Britain. One cannot say that those who are opposed to such acts of terrorism within Gr eat Britain are also opposed to such acts in, say, New York or Washington, D.C., or for that matter Jerusalem or Delhi or Bombay. And the main point is this: is any declared opposition to a particular kind of terrorism -- as suicide bombing -- based on fear that this weapon could easily be used, as in Iraq and Pakistan, against Muslim regimes, and so be a threat, given the nature of the weapon, to the security of Muslim streets in Muslim cities, combined with a worry over Islam's "image"? Or is it a principled opposition to the random killing of non-combatants? And does it extend to Infidels, and if so, to all Infidels, or only those who live in cities where there are also Muslims who might suffer? Without knowing the answers to these questions, these polls are, and will remain, guides to nothing and nowhere. Polling is an exceedingly clumsy way to find out the truth about what Muslims think. What they think surely must come from what they are taught to think, in environments in which Islam informs every area of life, in a way that no other faith does or ever has, but that can only be compared, in its overwhelmingness, to living in a totalitarian state, with the ruling ideology that is in the very air one breathes. Nevertheless, this poll will be taken seriously, and misused, in order to prolong naivete, unwariness, willful ignorance, and a willful refusal to study and to think about the unprecedented problem of millions of Muslims allowed to live, without anyone having thought much about it, in the countries of Western Europe and North America, and the consequences of that heedlessness, that nearly criminal negligence, that civilizational frivolity.

6. MAN ARRESTED FOR HATE CRIME FOR QUR'AN DESECRATION

Anti-racism laws are a threat to our freedom of speech and expression.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/017558.php

A 23-year-old man was arrested Friday on hate-crime charges after he threw a Quran in a toilet at Pace University on two separate occasions, police said. Stanislav Shmulevich of Brooklyn was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and aggravated harassment, both hate crimes, police said. It was unclear if he was a student at the school. A message left at the Shmulevich home was not immediately returned. The Islamic holy book was found in a toilet at Pace's lower Manhattan campus by a teacher on Oct. 13. A student discovered another book in a toilet on Nov. 21, police said. Muslim activists had called on Pace University to crack down on hate crimes after the incidents. As a result, the university said it would offer sensitivity training to its students. No one, of course, is calling upon those "Muslim activists" to take a strong stand against those Muslims who are justifying violence on the basis of the Qur'an and thereby lead people like Stanislav Shmulevich to come to despise the book. The school was accused by Muslim students of not taking the incident seriously enough at first. Pace classified the first desecration of the holy book as an act of vandalism, but university officials later reversed themselves and referred the incident to the New York Police Department's hate crimes unit. The incidents came amid a spate of vandalism cases with religious or racial overtones at the school. In an earlier incident on Sept. 21, the school reported another copy of the Quran was found in a library toilet, and in October someone scrawled racial slurs on a student's car at the Westchester County satellite campus and on a bathroom wall at the campus in lower Manhattan. Police did not connect Shmulevich to those incidents. Treatment of the Quran is a sensitive issue for Muslims, who view the book as a sacred object and mistreating it as an offense against God. The religion teaches that the Quran is the direct word of God.... Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the national CAIR office in Washington, D.C., has said the organization receives frequent reports of Quran desecrations in the United States, especially postings on Internet sites, but seldom makes them public. He said CAIR decided to speak out about the Pace incidents because Muslim students are impacted by the creation of what could be viewed as a hostile campus environment.

7. RECOMMENDED READING

The Force of Reason – Oriana Fallaci Rizzoli International Publications, 290pp, Hb, 2006 ISBN: 0847827534 Fallaci calmly but forcefully strips the layers of political correctness and fear from the current attitudes toward Islam, with some truely shocking and unnerving results. The slow, but rapidly increasing march of Islamic fundamentalism into Europe is documented, with its effects on the democratic and free society we cherish.

Bruce Bawer Doubleday Books, 256pp, Hb, 2006 ISBN:0385514727 Bawer, addresses the issue of radical Islam seriously from a secular, non-racist and pragmatic perspective. A depressing read but an extremely vital message conveying some uncomfortable truths.
